I painted shoes for Bethany (a beautiful bride who got married on the
beach). She had a video taken of her getting ready. What a great idea!<br />
<br />
The shoes are shown at the very beginning and at 2:20.<br />

Fairly new to my shop are these Atypical Princesses prints! If you's like a print of any of these, you can visit my shop here: www.lovemirandamarie.etsy.com.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is Sleep Walking Beauty. She's not your typical princess. She
sleeps the days away and sleep walks the darkened halls at night. And as
you can imagine, like every other person who sleeps as much as her, she
get serious bed-head, dark circles under her eyes, and a bunch of drool
slapped across her face!</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This is Cinderblock Ella. She's happy
because she just got back from the ball at which the Prince fell quickly
in love with her beautiful eyes and cinder block foot. (She lost her
foot long ago to some hungry rats who she thought were her friends!) Now
the Prince is trying to find the beautiful young maiden who stole his
heart... as well as his glass wheel barrow which she took in order to
make a speedy get away before midnight.<br />

In case you couldn't guess, this is Marie Antoinette. And yes, I know she was a queen and not a princess. ;)</div>

A royal know for her saying, "Let them eat cake" when referring to the starving peasants, chokes on her own words or should I say a piece of ironic cake! </div>

Hey there! Just a quick update on what's happening in the life of Miranda Marie (me!). I've been working like crazy, getting shoes ready for my upcoming show in just a few days. The show will be this weekend (September 28-29) at the Heritage Craft Fair in Fair Grove, MO. I'm so excited!<br />

These cowgirl boots are my newest creation and are just a sampling of what I'll have at the show! Come see me! I'd LOVE to see you there!<br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">I painted the Swiss Alps scene from a picture Shanna took on their trip. Kuddos to Mike for proposing to Shanna in the Alps! </span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">The front of the shoes really needed something eye-catching, so I added lots of rhinestones. Shanna was very happy with the result!</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In case you were wondering, my absolute favorite decade is the 1950's and this summer, my favorite summer camp (Camp Siloam) and my favorite decade are combining! This summer's camp theme is the 50's, so in honor of Camp Siloam... here is a very easy DIY project to make 50's shoes!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oCVWHZeR4Bg/UYgaa8nhr9I/AAAAAAAAAf4/NztVM9W__7I/s1600/DIY+50%27s+shoes+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oCVWHZeR4Bg/UYgaa8nhr9I/AAAAAAAAAf4/NztVM9W__7I/s640/DIY+50%27s+shoes+1.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
To start, you'll need some cheap white lace-up shoes (I found mine at Walmart for less than $5.50) and some permanent markers (fine point and ultra fine point).<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p8ca08uJ7VU/UYgh-SFYUvI/AAAAAAAAAgk/F4576HbHCO4/s1600/DIY+50%27s+shoes+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p8ca08uJ7VU/UYgh-SFYUvI/AAAAAAAAAgk/F4576HbHCO4/s400/DIY+50%27s+shoes+2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Begin drawing the outline of the design with the ultra fine point permanent marker.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SlKAmG0-VKo/UYgiUFkqbEI/AAAAAAAAAgs/ScO3Sl5DgiQ/s1600/DIY+50%27s+shoes+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SlKAmG0-VKo/UYgiUFkqbEI/AAAAAAAAAgs/ScO3Sl5DgiQ/s400/DIY+50%27s+shoes+3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The design is the same on the other side.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U66gtHRKwrI/UYgiyN2r6kI/AAAAAAAAAg0/W7iKLGenUzw/s1600/DIY+50%27s+shoes+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U66gtHRKwrI/UYgiyN2r6kI/AAAAAAAAAg0/W7iKLGenUzw/s400/DIY+50%27s+shoes+4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Here's the back side.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MOP-3z2Gl1I/UYgi_dfg8cI/AAAAAAAAAg8/3gt0bivfXns/s1600/DIY+50%27s+shoes+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MOP-3z2Gl1I/UYgi_dfg8cI/AAAAAAAAAg8/3gt0bivfXns/s400/DIY+50%27s+shoes+5.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Now that the outline is done, you can start filling in the black with the fine point permanent marker.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-li27q7P3TRo/UYgjQ9Q44ZI/AAAAAAAAAhE/GhbpYeoyg0g/s1600/DIY+50%27s+shoes+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-li27q7P3TRo/UYgjQ9Q44ZI/AAAAAAAAAhE/GhbpYeoyg0g/s400/DIY+50%27s+shoes+6.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Almost done!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5Tlc-kfKkcY/UYgjpeRhdDI/AAAAAAAAAhM/38BC_mpmiZE/s1600/DIY+50%27s+shoes+7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5Tlc-kfKkcY/UYgjpeRhdDI/AAAAAAAAAhM/38BC_mpmiZE/s400/DIY+50%27s+shoes+7.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
And there you go!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bEtcHgP_8Ik/UYgkHIH0CkI/AAAAAAAAAhY/DcAVlU-GL20/s1600/DIY+50%27s+shoes+8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bEtcHgP_8Ik/UYgkHIH0CkI/AAAAAAAAAhY/DcAVlU-GL20/s640/DIY+50%27s+shoes+8.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
Here's what they should look like from the front. Great job!<br />
<br />
P.S. Here's another version of the shoes. Be the hostess with the mostest and give 'em a try!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Today (4/27/13) is Lauren & Chris's wedding! So in honor of their Big Day, I'm posting some of the pictures of the shoes I painted for Lauren which she will be walking down the aisle in today! Congratulations, Lauren & Chris!<br />

Lauren told me early on that I could never make them TOO sparkly. So, I added lots of rhinestones. Here are some gorgeous dragonflies I added to the shoes. What do you think?<br />

<span style="font-family: Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> A crazy thing happened the other day! I sent these shoes a couple weeks ago to a lady in Scotland for her wedding. They were suppose to get there about a week before her wedding, but they got caught up in the postal system somewhere and vanished for almost 2 weeks! As her wedding got closer, the more stressed she and I got. It was torture, but I began praying about it. Her wedding was Tuesday, April 2. I received an email from the lady in Scotland the day after her wedding. This is what it said:</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> "Well
I have to tell you a story.... On Tuesday, 2nd April 2013, the postman
was very, very late, he didn’t get to my mum’s house until 12.20pm...
But he came and he delivered a wee card which said ‘you have a parcel
to collect from Prestwick Cross Post Office, there is a customs duty,
tax and handling fee to pay’..... Yay, I thought to myself, with an hour
and 40 minutes to go we have news of my beautiful shoes which my new
and very talented friend has painted for me :o) I was so happy,
ecstatic, I even did the happy dance.... Then, I turned the card over,
Prestwick Cross Post Office closes at 12.15pm for all parcel
collections...... I swore, lots of sweary words :o(
nooooooooooooooooooooo.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> With all hope gone I picked up the phone, just
in case, to phone the post office.... Amazingly, Margaret was still
there, just about to go home, but for some reason, unusually she had
answered the phone (has never, ever done this in her 20 years of working
at the post office, because when they are closed, they are closed and
she needs to get home!) but she did, she answered, woohoo :o) </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> I begged,
I pleaded, I explained, as my immobile, very poorly mum and half blind
dad got in the car to head for the post office, just in case.... A
miracle, Margaret agreed to wait for them, then she gave me the bad
news.... The customs duty, nearly £50 had to be paid in cash, no
facility for paying by credit or debit card, cash..... We scrabbled
money, cash together, threw it at my mum and dad who very slowly, slower
than the speed limit allows, because my mum hasn’t driven the car in
over a year, drove to the post office. There was Margaret, hand out,
waiting for the cash, no change available, the exchange was done. Mum
and Dad had the shoes and they drove very slowly back to their place,
where I was dressed and ready with secondary shoes on my feet and just
about to get into the car to take me to the registry office.... I
loooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvveeeee<wbr></wbr>eedddddddd loved, loved the packaging
and your wee note, thank you so much, my shoes are beautiful, I just
managed to get them on and Tom and I got
married and we had a fantastic day and everyone loved my shoes and I had
to take them off so that everyone could get a proper look at them and I
spent the rest of the day telling everyone about you and my shoes :o) </span></span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Zd7TGh0ku1E/UT1EVI3p_dI/AAAAAAAAAcc/ZcSpzqHYVfU/s1600/IMG_4953.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Zd7TGh0ku1E/UT1EVI3p_dI/AAAAAAAAAcc/ZcSpzqHYVfU/s640/IMG_4953.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
My progress continues...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kR6AqjzyWyM/UT1HghUb9GI/AAAAAAAAAck/xYpTvwVWmtU/s1600/IMG_4945.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kR6AqjzyWyM/UT1HghUb9GI/AAAAAAAAAck/xYpTvwVWmtU/s400/IMG_4945.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
I started with the happy couple holding hands in the glow of a warm summer sunset. To create the chairs, I had to paint a golden color as the base for the adirondack wooden slats. Once dry, I did some detailing with my bright orange and dark brown permanent markers. I used the same markers for the couple sitting in the chairs.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FdH0WxVCmBw/UT1KqGj_MAI/AAAAAAAAAc4/k7SWQ7kyqoM/s1600/IMG_4948a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FdH0WxVCmBw/UT1KqGj_MAI/AAAAAAAAAc4/k7SWQ7kyqoM/s640/IMG_4948a.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
I blocked in some simple shapes for the farm house, silo and picket fence. As object fade into the distance, the colors become softer, so I used a light purple and blue.<br />
<br />
<b>NEXT EPISODE: </b>I'll be adding a beautiful quote from Audrey Hepburn and the true lovers knot into one of the tree roots!<br />

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-omGm1v4hGMA/UT01Kwk_nGI/AAAAAAAAAb8/JUvmba5qzvA/s1600/IMG_4925.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-omGm1v4hGMA/UT01Kwk_nGI/AAAAAAAAAb8/JUvmba5qzvA/s400/IMG_4925.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Hey there! I wanted to let you in on my newest project. It's a custom project for my new, sweet friend in Scotland. She's getting married in April and she asked me to design and paint her wedding shoes for her!<br />
<br />
What I'm going to show you here and over the next few weeks is my progress for designing and painting the shoes.<b> <span style="font-family: inherit;">So, stay tuned to see the transformation!</span></b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N9zoxicVMBw/UT03Z1ZLRDI/AAAAAAAAAcE/1eZA2z4tfVA/s1600/IMG_4881.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N9zoxicVMBw/UT03Z1ZLRDI/AAAAAAAAAcE/1eZA2z4tfVA/s400/IMG_4881.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
I began by asking her tons of questions about herself, so I could get to know her better and find out what she likes. Here are some things she listed:<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>She and her fiance dream of someday living on a farm in Australia</li>
<li>Her fiance is a woodcarver (so a has a lot of symbolism to them)</li>
<li>She is fantastic at making knots</li>
<li>The Count of Monte Cristo is her favorite book</li>
<li>She loves to sail and travel</li>
</ul>
After corresponding back and forth a bit, I was able to make some quick sketches for the design and send them to her for her approval.<br />
<br />
Her response was so touching. She was very happy with the design, almost to the point of tears! So, needless to say, I started painting.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q1D6nEFEqS0/UT09yCka62I/AAAAAAAAAcM/qpUfjC3nBCU/s1600/IMG_4928.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-q1D6nEFEqS0/UT09yCka62I/AAAAAAAAAcM/qpUfjC3nBCU/s640/IMG_4928.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
My idea was to create a romantic scene on the farm they always dreamed about at sunset. As you can see, I've painted few base coats, which I'll soon go over with more detailing. My vision is to have the happy couple sitting in adirondack chairs under a tree, holding hands in the glow of a warm summer sunset.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-o12YrKfAJ3s/UT1ABa9tMyI/AAAAAAAAAcU/Gm0RCmHpPnQ/s1600/IMG_4936.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-o12YrKfAJ3s/UT1ABa9tMyI/AAAAAAAAAcU/Gm0RCmHpPnQ/s640/IMG_4936.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
The heel of the shoe seemed the best place to put the tree (I added a heart and arrow on the tree with their initials). I always love having a design wrap all the way around the heel, so I made the tree roots spiral downward.<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>NEXT EPISODE:</b> I'll be adding details to the farm and tree branch, and paint in the happy couple!<br />

<br />
<br />
Hey! So many things have been going on here, but all great and wonderful things! I have to give God the credit, because I see him blessing my business like I have never dreamed of before!<br />
<br />
Just today I found out that The Event Group, a corporate and social catering company, just featured my wedding shoes on their blog! It's so beautiful! You can see the article here:<br />
http://blog.eventgroupcatering.com/<br />
They featured the custom shoes I painted for Elyse's Pride&Prejudice wedding!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GH55ke-GQ2E/UQrdfg6cu_I/AAAAAAAAAa8/qjkDZwJzkoc/s1600/MM-shoes-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GH55ke-GQ2E/UQrdfg6cu_I/AAAAAAAAAa8/qjkDZwJzkoc/s640/MM-shoes-1.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
The other huge blessing is, I am booked through March and the beginning of April working on wedding shoes for several beautiful brides! One pair I sold last week was one of my favorite shoes I've created so far: the Rose & Peacock Bouquet wedge shoes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hJWNtqsl4RQ/UQrf6K8L4-I/AAAAAAAAAbM/ZUV70JvYGL4/s1600/Rose+&+Peacock+Bouquet+Shoes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hJWNtqsl4RQ/UQrf6K8L4-I/AAAAAAAAAbM/ZUV70JvYGL4/s400/Rose+&+Peacock+Bouquet+Shoes.jpg" width="357" /></a></div>
Just yesterday, I sent these shoes to Australia for a bride who is getting married in a winery! So romantic! I'm so glad they are going to a good home. But, if you were interested in these shoes, don't worry! I have put a new listing in my Etsy shop for this design. If you send me your shoes, I can paint this design on them for you!<br />
<br />
<span style="color: purple;">*Spring is almost here and with it comes the May weddings, so if you want some custom painted shoes for your wedding, be sure to let me know <u>soon</u>, before I'm booked for May!*</span><br />
<br />
Blessings!<br />

<br />
I came across these beautiful wedding photos on Pinterest and thought I'd share them with you. I love her loose waves! I've been trying to figure out how to get my hair to look like that, but with no success.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lAd4_cwh1qA/UOygmZHJAVI/AAAAAAAAAaQ/sq_1QSxOeAg/s1600/shoes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="298" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lAd4_cwh1qA/UOygmZHJAVI/AAAAAAAAAaQ/sq_1QSxOeAg/s400/shoes.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
These shoes are so elegant. Perfect for a soft pink wedding.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B-IkiPyp6Zw/UOyhNObLVoI/AAAAAAAAAac/W0ajlLZEqKE/s1600/cake.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="276" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B-IkiPyp6Zw/UOyhNObLVoI/AAAAAAAAAac/W0ajlLZEqKE/s400/cake.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I just love the roses on this cake! Soft pink roses also pair nicely with delicate lace. I like how the cake is not overly lacey, there are just hints of it. It compliments the roses very well.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--iHlSO61Ms4/UOyhd3NbUNI/AAAAAAAAAak/oYU-ATquTRE/s1600/veil.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--iHlSO61Ms4/UOyhd3NbUNI/AAAAAAAAAak/oYU-ATquTRE/s640/veil.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
I am not normally a huge fan of veils, but this one is so simple, it's gorgeous! A veil definitely looks the best with loose curls, in my opinion, because if you wear one with an updo, the veil tends to cover up the intricate detail of your hair.<br />
<br />
What do you prefer? Veil or no veil?<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8NzAy6Gyyzs/UHLpqtSHEBI/AAAAAAAAAW8/0ZOMN3kl1gI/s1600/Elyse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8NzAy6Gyyzs/UHLpqtSHEBI/AAAAAAAAAW8/0ZOMN3kl1gI/s640/Elyse.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I recently got back from a trip to Virginia, visiting my folks and helping my best friend out with her wedding. This lovely bride is Elyse. She is my best friend of 16 years and the most beautiful person (inside and out) that you could ever meet! As a wedding present I designed and painted her wedding shoes.<br />
<br />
She is a huge fan of the 6 hour Pride and Prejudice, which is one of the reasons we became such good friends. So when she told me she was getting married on her fiance's farm and the theme was Enchanted Fall wedding, my mind went wild with ideas! Here's a list of things she wanted me to include in the design:<br />
<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>a picture of the farm with the two trees she was going to get married under.</li>
<li>the words, "To my best friend, with all my love."</li>
<li>a bare tree with no leaves.</li>
<li>a bouquet of flowers, like the one she was going to have.</li>
<li>the wedding date.</li>
</ul>
<br />
I included it all, plus a few other things I knew she would like... <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v0FM6R-tFgs/UHLur0qJuWI/AAAAAAAAAXQ/yDzQucqWG90/s1600/IMG_4550.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v0FM6R-tFgs/UHLur0qJuWI/AAAAAAAAAXQ/yDzQucqWG90/s640/IMG_4550.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
... like Pride and Prejudice style silhouettes of her and her fiance, Baron.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I LOVE working on wedge shoes! There is so much space to design. Elyse's shoes were especially fun to design because they had cork heels. It worked perfectly with the design, giving the impression that the silhouettes were on Victorian parchment paper. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here's how I incorporated the words, "To my best friend, with all my love."</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y7m7eHgkdso/UHL0bChBaXI/AAAAAAAAAXg/IhPsps2OqDQ/s1600/IMG_4547.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y7m7eHgkdso/UHL0bChBaXI/AAAAAAAAAXg/IhPsps2OqDQ/s640/IMG_4547.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7B2R-68AhjA/UHMJOlWQ6ZI/AAAAAAAAAYE/p8ZVQ0qh1IA/s1600/with+all+my+love.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7B2R-68AhjA/UHMJOlWQ6ZI/AAAAAAAAAYE/p8ZVQ0qh1IA/s640/with+all+my+love.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The inner sides of the wedge heels I made bright and colorful, but used colors that still blended well with the shoes. Elyse sent me a picture of the trees she was getting married beneath. The beautiful scene reminded me of the cover of the new Pride and Prejudice. So, with that inspiration, I created this...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dtInIl7oDTo/UHWRnQgJvTI/AAAAAAAAAYw/Z11QKVCBEJM/s1600/right+shoe.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="532" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dtInIl7oDTo/UHWRnQgJvTI/AAAAAAAAAYw/Z11QKVCBEJM/s640/right+shoe.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A silhouette of Elyse in her beautiful wedding gown, walking on the grassy fields towards the two trees where Baron eagerly waits. The whole time I was working on this side of the shoe I had the song "Dawn" (from the Pride & Prejudice soundtrack) stuck in my head. I'm not complaining. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The final side, I decided, needed to have the bouquet of flowers, but to make it even more special I added one of Elyse's favorite quotes from P&P. When Mr. Darcy proposes to Elizabeth the first time, he ends a long rant about how his better judgement advises against the match, with the words:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7_r9SkmxsXo/UHWR7AMWlSI/AAAAAAAAAY4/YVgQ8FxWaaM/s1600/left+shoe.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="532" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7_r9SkmxsXo/UHWR7AMWlSI/AAAAAAAAAY4/YVgQ8FxWaaM/s640/left+shoe.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
"You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Needless to say, Elyse loved the shoes. Honestly, I've never seen someone get so excited about my work. She is a dear friend and the most beautiful bride. Congratulations, Elyse! I love you!</div>

<br />
Hi Everyone! I realize it's been a while since I have updated my blog. Too long! So, back by popular demand, I bring you some new hand painted shoes!<br />
<br />
It's been a crazy, but absolutely amazing summer! My husband and I worked and lived full time at a Christian summer camp for the past 3 months. I loved every moment being with the kids, but now things have slowed down and I have time to focus on my art. The shoes I have featured here are my latest creation.<br />
Awesome side note: <b>They were recently worn by Miss Arkansas on the runway in a fashion show</b>!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Y-6Tf5I_vzE/UCsg14l9MhI/AAAAAAAAATo/-5SMyTI8UeA/s1600/Hand+Painted+Shoes+Wedding+Bouquet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="302" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Y-6Tf5I_vzE/UCsg14l9MhI/AAAAAAAAATo/-5SMyTI8UeA/s400/Hand+Painted+Shoes+Wedding+Bouquet.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
I designed these shoes after a beautiful wedding bouquet I saw. They are very whimsical and dreamy, as if Cinderella got tired of her plain glass slippers and had the Prince upgrade them. Perfect for a whimsical wedding!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XRJ-gKr2H_Q/UCsLpPfh7EI/AAAAAAAAASk/DM2UetlAOCM/s1600/Hand+Painted+Shoes+Wedding+Bouquet+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XRJ-gKr2H_Q/UCsLpPfh7EI/AAAAAAAAASk/DM2UetlAOCM/s640/Hand+Painted+Shoes+Wedding+Bouquet+2.jpg" width="475" /></a></div>
<br />
It's the start of a line of designs I want to create for the colorful bride. Each bride has different wedding colors and with this line of Bouquet Wedding Shoes, I can paint each bouquet unique to the specific colors and flower choices of the bride! If you are interested in having your own unique bouquet wedding shoes, you can contact me at: LoveMirandaMarie@gmail.com<br />
<br />
I also have a limited supply of these white Cinderella shoes in sizes ranging from Women's size 6-10. I don't have any half sizes. Contact me if you are interested.<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>I came across this green cotton, cap sleeve jacket at the thrift store the other day and instantly thought of painting an Ireland landscape on it. Ireland is very dear to my heart because almost 2 years ago, my husband and I went there on our honeymoon. It was the most breath-taking, beautiful place I had ever seen! Since then, I have wanted to live there, but since that is not possible at the moment, I have to settle for surrounding myself with things that remind me of it. Thus, I embarked on my painting adventure.<br />

From 12 years of art classes, I learned to always begin by blocking in basic shapes of color. Don’t jump into detail or you will probably regret it later. My art teacher always told me to work the WHOLE picture and not just one little spot. <br />
<br />
For the grass, it helps that the fabric is already green, but unless you add other colors to it, the grass isn’t going to look real at all. Here I use some yellow for the highlighted parts and brown for the shadows. My lamb is just a couple splotches of light blue paint. You can see that for the fields beyond the hill, I mixed a little yellow and white together and painted in the basic shape. In some patches, I didn’t put the paint on very heavy because I wanted the green to show through. I let that dry over night.<br />
<br />
Note: I had never painted on cotton before, so I was surprised to find out that paint does not spread very well over cotton. It takes several coats and lots of patience before it gets easier to work with. I recommend putting cardboard underneath the article of clothing you are working on, because the acrylic paint, if layered on too thickly, will bleed through to the other side.<br />

<div class="MsoNormal">In the picture I am working from, there lies a quaint little village at the bottom of the hill, along the roadside. I used a light blue paint to figure out where the road was going to be and I used the same color to get some slight detail in the water. I went over the road with a light pink and added some purple in the fields, to map out the shapes of the houses.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />

</div><div class="MsoNormal">Note: You can tell from this picture, that I don't use any fancy paint. Just basic acrylic paint that you can find anywhere. I have been very satisfied with the results!</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br />

</div><div class="MsoNormal">I finished filling in the clouds with the light blue and added a light pink for the highlights.
